Behind the Scenes: Bringing Three South Florida Counties Together for a Historic Voter Participation News Conference

Bringing three counties together for one event takes more than scheduling a date and sending out invitations. It takes strategic planning, collaboration, clear communication, and a team committed to making it happen.

On September 23, 2026, the Supervisors of Elections from Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties came together for the first-ever Tri-County News Conference on Voter Participation at the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The event brought together election officials from across South Florida to share information about voter registration, voter education, and participation ahead of the November 3 General Election.

Behind the scenes, Lisa Arneaud, founder of The LA PR Firm, helped bring the event to life through planning, coordination, and day-of event operations.

For Lisa, seeing months of preparation come together was a proud moment and a reminder of the value of collaboration in government communications.

Three Counties, One Shared Message

The news conference brought together three South Florida election officials:

Each supervisor represented their respective county while joining in a regional effort to provide residents with information about the upcoming election.

The conference focused on voter education, registration, and the importance of helping eligible residents understand their voting options.

With Florida's voter registration deadline approaching on October 5, the event provided an opportunity for the three election offices to communicate a shared message to residents across South Florida.

The event also demonstrated how government agencies can work together to communicate information that extends beyond individual county boundaries.

The Work Behind the News Conference

Successful public relations and event coordination require much more than what audiences see on the day of an event.

For a multi-county news conference, communication and coordination are especially important. Each participating organization has its own leadership, staff, responsibilities, and communication procedures.

As the event coordinator, Lisa worked to bring the different pieces together, helping guide preparations leading up to the conference and supporting operations on the day of the event.

From coordinating with participating offices to helping ensure the event came together as planned, the work required collaboration among multiple teams.

For The LA PR Firm, this project reflects the importance of thoughtful planning, strong professional relationships, and effective communication when coordinating public-facing events.

Whether organizing a news conference, managing media relations, or supporting a government communications initiative, the work behind the scenes helps create an organized and effective experience for everyone involved.

Recognizing the People Who Made It Possible

While Lisa played a central role in coordinating the event, bringing three counties together required the support and collaboration of many dedicated professionals.

The LA PR Firm extends its appreciation to the Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office and Supervisor Joe Scott for hosting the conference, along with Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia and Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link for their participation and collaboration.

Special recognition also goes to the public information officers who worked together throughout the process, including Juan Mendieta of Miami-Dade County and Alison Novoa of Palm Beach County.

Their coordination and support were an important part of bringing the participating offices together.

We also thank the staff members, communications professionals, and everyone who contributed to the planning and execution of the event.

Their collective efforts helped bring this regional news conference to life.

A Proud Moment for The LA PR Firm

For Lisa, one of the most rewarding parts of the experience was seeing everyone come together after the work that went into planning the event.

Watching the Supervisors of Elections, public information officers, and supporting teams gather for a shared purpose was a moment of pride.

The conference also provided an opportunity to see the impact of strong professional relationships and effective coordination firsthand.

At The LA PR Firm, we believe that successful public relations is about more than securing media coverage or organizing an event. It's about building relationships, bringing people together, and helping organizations communicate effectively with the communities they serve.

The Tri-County News Conference was an opportunity to put those principles into practice.

Government Communications and Public Relations in Action

Government communications require accuracy, coordination, and an understanding of how to deliver information to diverse audiences.

When multiple public agencies collaborate on a single initiative, a coordinated communications approach helps ensure that information is consistent, accessible, and clearly presented.

The September 23 news conference demonstrated the role that strategic public relations and event coordination can play in supporting communication across government agencies.

For The LA PR Firm, participating in this initiative reflects our experience supporting public-sector organizations through strategic communications, media relations, and event coordination.

We are grateful to have played a role in bringing this event together and appreciate everyone who contributed to making it possible.
